Ten new songs ‘to provoke and amuse’ from Edmonds, WA-based songwriter Jess Grant. Highway 99 was recorded at Seattle’s storied London Bridge Studio (Pearl Jam) with some of Seattle’s top session players. The album pivots deftly between hard-edged classic rock and softer melodic offerings, spanning genres while navigating social and personal themes. 

Grant’s influences include Joni Mitchell, David Bowie, Elton John, Ian Anderson, Graham Parker, Joan Jett, John Hiatt and Steve Earle. Jess dropped his first DIY cassette album in 1982 – Highway 99 marks Jess' 18th independently released studio project. He’s appeared on stage with West Coast icons like Utah Phillips and Jello Biafra and received national airplay on NPR.
